DRDO RCI Apprentice Recruitment 2027: Research Centre Imarat (RCI), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has invited online applications from eligible Indian candidates for engagement of Apprentices for the year 2027.
The apprenticeship is available for Graduate, Diploma and ITI Trade candidates for a period of one year. A total of 195 apprentice vacancies are mentioned in the notification, although the number of vacancies may vary.

Short Description

For ITI Trade Apprentice posts, candidates must have passed ITI from an NCVT/SCVT affiliated institute.
Regular candidates who secured at least 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination are eligible to apply. The qualifying examination must have been completed in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.
For Graduate and Diploma candidates, registration on the NATS 2.0 portal is mandatory. ITI Trade candidates are required to register on the Apprenticeship India portal.
Important Eligibility Conditions
- The candidate must be an Indian National.
- The candidate must be at least 18 years old as on 01 September 2026.
- Only regular candidates with 70% marks or 7.5 CGPA and above in the qualifying examination are eligible.
- Candidates with higher qualifications than the prescribed qualification are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone apprenticeship training are not eligible.
- Candidates currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any organisation are not eligible.
- Candidates having more than one year of work experience are not eligible.
- All qualifications must be from Indian institutions recognised by the appropriate statutory authority.
Age Limit
The candidate should not be less than 18 years of age as on 01 September 2026.
Reservation for SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS categories will be applicable as per the applicable Apprentices Act and rules.
Salary and Facilities
Selected candidates will receive a stipend as per Government norms. The notification refers to the Government Gazette dated 03 September 2025 for the applicable stipend rates.

For Graduate and Technician Apprentices, an Aadhaar-seeded bank account is mandatory for receiving 50% of the stipend from the Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme.
The establishment will not provide hostel accommodation, quarters or transport during the apprenticeship period.
Selection Process
The selection of apprentices will be based on Academic Merit and Interview, as required, subject to satisfactory verification of documents.

Document verification will be conducted for shortlisted candidates before creation of the apprenticeship contract.

Important Note for Candidates
