4. Qualification Eligibility
- Fitter: ITI in Fitter Trade
- Welder: ITI in Welder
- AAO(P): M.Sc (Chemistry)
- Graduate Apprentice (Mechanical): B.Tech / BE in Mechanical
- Technician Apprentice (Mechanical): Diploma in Mechanical
- General Stream (Executive): BBA (Fin) / B.Com
- Only Indian nationals can apply.
- Candidates with qualification obtained through Distance Learning, Part Time or Correspondence Mode will not be considered.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently doing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government, Public Sector or Private organization are not eligible.
- Candidates can apply for one trade only.
- Candidates with higher qualifications like ME/M.Tech, MCA, MBA, MSc, MA, M.Com or equivalent, CA/ICWA, PhD, LLB (except for AAO(P)) are not eligible, as per the notification.
- Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD is applicable as per the prescribed percentage applicable to the State of Kerala.

6. Salary and Facilities
Stipend: The stipend will be as prescribed under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and as notified by the Government from time to time. The exact amount is Not Mentioned in the Notification poster / pdf.
Facilities: During the training period, IREL (India) Limited will not provide any other benefit or financial assistance to apprentices.
7. Selection Process
- Selection will be based on a merit list prepared from marks scored in the specified educational qualification.
- Selected candidates must be found "Medically Fit" by the IREL (India) Limited Medical Officer.
- In case of a tie, candidates with higher marks in the specified educational qualification will be preferred. If the tie continues, seniority in date of birth will be considered.
- Priority for selection will be given in this order: (a) Land Affected Category, (b) Candidates from the Mining area and peripheral villages within 10 KM radius of IREL Chavara unit, (c) Wards of serving employees / Forum members, (d) Belonging to Kollam District, (e) Belonging to Kerala State, (f) Others.
- If final aggregate marks are not mentioned in the pass certificate or final marks sheet, the average marks of all semesters/years will be considered.
- Where CGPA or grades are awarded, the equivalent percentage of marks must be indicated in the application, and a certificate from the University/Institute must be submitted at the time of document verification.
- Candidates will be called for document verification in order of merit and must bring original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies.
- Shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical examination.
- Apprentices will be allowed entry only after submission of a Police Verification Certificate, as IREL is a highly protected area.
- Selected candidates must sign a contract as per the Apprentices Act.
- The management can reject any application, and its decision will be final. IREL has no obligation to offer regular employment during or after the apprenticeship.
8. Important Documents
Candidates should send self-attested photocopies of the following documents along with the application:
- 10th pass / Matriculation certificate / Birth certificate issued by the concerned Education Board or Authority as proof of date of birth (no other document will be accepted for date of birth)
- 10th / HSC mark sheet
- SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/Disability certificate in the prescribed format, if applicable (OBC certificate should be the latest one)
- Income and Assets Certificate for EWS candidates
- Semester-wise / year-wise mark sheets and pass certificate in the respective discipline
- Documentary proof for Land Affected Category / Mining area and peripheral villages within 10 KM radius of IREL Chavara unit, certified by the Resources Department of IREL (India) Limited, Chavara
- Nativity Certificate
- Aadhaar Card
- Duly filled application form with a passport size photograph
The Police Verification Certificate issued by the police authorities of the candidate's area is mandatory upon selection, before joining the training. Candidates should also carry a print-out of the provisional offer letter of training during document verification.

The filled application must reach the office on or before this date. Applications received after 31st October 2026 will not be considered.
