SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026
Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), has released a recruitment notification for engagement of Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 for the year 2026-27.
A total of 516 ITI Trade Apprentice vacancies are available in different trades including Electrician, Fitter, Welder, Machinist, Turner, Electronics Mechanic, Instrument Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, IT and other trades.
Eligible Indian citizens who have completed ITI from a Government-recognised institute can apply through the Apprenticeship India portal. The last date to apply in the respective portal is 20 October 2026.
Short Description
SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant is inviting applications for ITI Trade Apprentices for the 2026-27 apprenticeship training session.
Candidates who have passed the required ITI qualification in the respective trade can register on the Apprenticeship India portal and apply for the available apprenticeship opportunity under SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant.
The recruitment includes 516 Trade Apprentice seats. The apprenticeship programme is designed to provide practical training and hands-on experience in a professional industrial environment.

qualification Eligibility
Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility conditions for SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant ITI Trade Apprentice Recruitment 2026:
- Candidates must be Indian citizens.
- Candidates must have passed ITI in the respective trade from a Government recognised institute.
- Only candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible to apply.
- The qualifying examination must have been passed in the last five years, namely 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026.
- Candidates whose qualifying examination result has not been declared or is not available by the last date of application are not eligible.
- Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under any establishment are not eligible.
- Candidates having job experience of one year are also not eligible as per the notification.
- Reservation will be followed as per the applicable Government of Chhattisgarh guidelines.
Before applying for the ITI apprenticeship, candidates must first register on the Apprenticeship India portal.

The age of the candidate should not be less than 18 years and should not be more than 28 years as on 31 October 2026.

The official notification states that Bhilai Steel Plant will not provide accommodation during the training period. Apprentices will have to make their own arrangements.

Selection Process
The selection of candidates for the available apprenticeship vacancies will be carried out on the basis of academic merit through a walk-in process.
